Romania
Romania is a country located in Southeastern and Central Europe, North of the Balkan Peninsula, on the Lower Danube, within and outside the Carpathian arch, bordering on the Black Sea. Almost all of the Danube Delta is located within its territory. It shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the northeast, and Bulgaria to the south.

Romania has the 9th largest territory and the 7th largest popu...lation (with 21.5 million people) among the European Union member states. Its capital and largest city is Bucharest the 6th largest city in the EU with 1.9 million people. In 2007, Sibiu, a city in Transylvania, was chosen as a European Capital of Culture. Romania also joined NATO on March 29, 2004, and is also a member of the Latin Union, of the Francophonie of the OSCE and an associate member of the CPLP. Romania is a semi-presidential unitary state.

Bucharest
Bucharest is the capital city, industrial and financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country and lies on the banks of the Dâmboviţa River. According to January 1, 2009 official estimates, Bucharest proper has a population of 1,944,367. The urban area extends beyond the limits of Bucharest proper and has a population of 2.1 million people. Adding the satellite towns around the urban area, the metropolitan area of Bucharest has a population of 2.6 million people. Bucharest is the 6th largest city in the European Union by population within city limits. Economically, the city is the most prosperous in Romania and is one of the main industrial centres and transportation hubs of Eastern Europe. As the one of the wealthiest cities in Romania, Bucharest also has a broad range of convention facilities, educational facilities, cultural venues, shopping arcades and recreational areas. The city proper is administratively known as the Municipality of Bucharest (Municipiul Bucureşti), and has the same administrative level as a county, being further subdivided into six sectors.

Iaşi
Iaşi is a city and municipality in Moldavia, in north-eastern Romania. The city was the capital of the Principality of Moldavia from 1564 to 1859, the United Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia between 1859–1862 and Romania between 1916–1918. The third largest Romanian city Iaşi is the economic, cultural and academic centre of the Romanian region of Moldavia.
Cluj-Napoca
Cluj-Napoca is the fourth largest city in Romania and the seat of Cluj County in north-western Transylvania. Geographically, it is roughly equally distant from Bucharest (323 km / 201 mi), Budapest (354 km / 220 mi) and Belgrade (327 km / 203 mi). The city lies in the valley of the Someşul Mic River and is the capital of the historical province of Transylvania.
Timişoara
Timişoara also known as "The City of Athletes", is a city in the Banat region of western Romania. It is the capital of Timiş County. With 311,586 inhabitants, Timişoara, the second largest Romanian city, is the main economic and cultural center in Banat in the west of the country
Constanţa
Constanţa is the oldest living city in Romania, founded around 600 BC. The city is located in the Dobruja region of Romania, on the Black Sea coast. It is the capital of Constanţa County and the largest city in the region The city of Constanța, fifth largest in Romania, is part of a group of seven roughly equal-size cities which rank after Bucharest, Romania's capital. The Constanţa metropolitan area was founded in 2007 and comprises 14 localities located at a maximum distance of 30 km (19 mi) from the city and, with 446,595 inhabitants is the second largest metropolitan area in Romania, after Bucharest.
